  • They enable the selective recovery of valuable metals or the controlled management of waste
  • Fully automated, scalable and configurable with different processing lines
  • Selective resins that can be used in a single-pass or two-stage process to achieve even higher efficiency

Selective resin systems represent a highly efficient and technologically advanced solution for the targeted removal of specific contaminants found in industrial or groundwater. These systems are based on the use of ion exchange resins designed with a high chemical affinity for specific metal or semi-metal ions, making them ideal for treating water containing boron, nickel, copper, chromium, aluminium, arsenic, lead and other heavy metals. Selective resins differ from traditional ion exchange resins in that they possess highly specialised functional groups that enable them to capture even very low concentrations of pollutants, with efficiencies that can exceed 95%.

This technology is used in a variety of sectors: in the treatment of wastewater from electroplating and metallurgy, in groundwater contaminated by past industrial activities, in the treatment of drinking water to ensure compliance with current regulations (e.g. removal of boron and arsenic), and in metal recovery cycles from industrial processes. A significant advantage is the ability to regenerate the resins and concentrate the eluates, enabling the selective recovery of valuable metals or controlled waste management.

Uberplants Italia supplies fully automated, scalable and configurable systems with various treatment lines, including in combination with membrane technologies (reverse osmosis, nanofiltration) or physico-chemical systems. Selective resins can be used in a single pass or in a two-stage process to achieve even higher efficiencies, reaching concentrations that comply with discharge limits (Table 3 of Legislative Decree 152/06) or parameters for drinking water. The selected resins are all certified for use in water intended for human consumption, making them ideal for use in waterworks and water supply networks.
